Climax Plug Tobacco Sign: Important, large, very early heavily embossed cardboard advertising sign for Lorillard Co.’s Climax Plug Chewing Tobacco. Dated 1885 piece is clean, bright and excellent in appearance (C. 8+), w/ a little light surface scuffing and general wear from storage. I’m told piece was recently discovered never used in an old closed up printing shop (probably a kept proof copy, w/ early hand painted enhancements done in radiant gold area). Incredible piece, ready for framing.
