Product Description
Fountain Tobacco Sign: Incredible, very early museum quality tin litho sign for Fountain Tobacco (Lovell & Buffington Co. Covington, Kentucky) featuring stunning, rich, finely detailed multi-color graphics by Tuchfarber Lithographers, Cincinnati, Ohio. This sign was recently discovered hidden beneath a Masonic print inside an old picture frame that was nurturing and protecting it from the elements all these years. The piece is crisp, bright and basically has an almost like new appearance (displays as a strong C. 8.5/+), w/ a few small, white wear spots in the bottom section of the fountain. A very close examination will show a little bit of a non-detracting raised molten type faint splotches on the surface in the lower fountain area and in a few of the bottom letters of Tobacco, which arementioned for accuracy, they arereally not detracting to the overall appearance and very possibly occurred during manufacturing process (note: the surface of the entire sign is very stable and not showing any hints or signs of flaking, chipping or lifting).
