Has original hand soldered bale handle on top of metal screw on lid and most of tobacco still inside (1883 tax stamp).

Gold Chips Tobacco Jar: Outstanding, very early, six-sided, amber colored glass tobacco jar for Globe Tobacco Co.’s (Detroit, MI, Windsor, Ont.) “Gold Chips” brand tobacco featuring incredible early paper label (shows young flying woman dropping alphabet tiles down on city and water). Has original hand soldered bale handle on top of metal screw on lid and most of tobacco still inside (1883 tax stamp). Excellent overall, w/ a minor paper loss spot at bottom left corner edge.
