Vintage Gould & Cook Pencil Sharpener: Unusual, very early cast iron mechanical pencil sharpener (embossed Gould & Cook Co., Leominster, MA, w/ May 25 1886 patent date). Cranking handle moves three gear mechanism which rotates both pencil and the 5.75 (dia.) revolving iron disk holding sandpaper that shapes the pencil point. Excellent (nice working condition).
